Jules is a second-year Master of Science in Global Health student at Duke University. Originally from Kazakhstan, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry in Germany, where her curiosity for science led her to join a biotech venture focused on immunogenetics. Her path took a transformative turn when she founded a nonprofit that began as a small volunteer initiative supporting Ukrainian refugees in Germany and since grown to serve thousands of refugees from around the world.

At Duke, her research focuses on health innovation and the economics and policy mechanisms that enable scientific discoveries to translate into real-world solutions. After graduation, Jules will be joining McKinsey & Company, where she hopes to apply her analytical and human-centered approach to challenge the status quo and drive system-level impact.
